Every year, EM—Journal will recognize distinguished writing and teaching of writing with two awards.
First, the EM—Journal Award for Writing recognizes exceptional writing as demonstrated through rhetorical effectiveness, deliberative revision, document design, style, and impact. The annual recipient of the award will receive a $100 honorarium.

Annual award winners are selected from among writers and teachers associated with the journal during a given annual cycle. That is, EM—Journal Award for Writing will go to a writer published in EM—Journal, and the Phillip Dillman Memorial Award for Teaching is given to an instructor (graduate assistant, lecturer, part-time instructor, or faculty member) affiliated with works appearing in the journal.
As of July 2014, EM-Journal is no longer accepting new materials or developing new issues.
Following the first volume of EM—Journal we intend to incorporate more robust renderings of article and issue metadata. The development of this feature is necessarily ongoing.
